Block Blue Light

PowerPanel MEGA review

The Generation 5 MEGA measured 91 percent of Block Blue Light's own published average, which is unusually close. The listing has since moved to Generation 6 at the same LED count, wavelengths and rated power, so treat the measurement as applying to the previous revision.

What we like

  • Fifty percent more LEDs than the PowerPanel MAX and noticeably wider coverage
  • Block Blue Light publishes the deflating spectrometer figure next to the flattering solar-meter one
  • Five year warranty, the longest in the category

What to know

  • The page says every device is SAA and FDA approved, which is not a real regulatory status for these products
  • The independent measurement was taken on the Generation 5 MEGA, while the panel now sold is the Generation 6
  • The page itself is inconsistent, opening by calling it Generation 6 and later describing the same unit as the Generation 5 Panel
